Pilot for a day – Mustang P-51 Scat VII

Besides vintage cameras, I also have a weakness for old cars, motorcycles and …
old warbirds !
More specifically, the types used in WWII, like the A24 Douglas Dauntless, the North American T-6 Texan or Harvard, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk and the P-51 Mustang.
Last Sunday (18 sept 2016 ) I had an opportunity to fly the most special and fastest of them all ( thanks to my partner ), The P-51 Mustang !
The event took place at the flying festival 2016 at Brasschaat airport, plane was owned by Vintage Flights.
After a thorough briefing ( safety, bail-out instructions, use of the parachute, basic flying instructions … ) and putting on my flight gear, we were on are way !
Apart from many fly-by’s and corkscrew, I also got a chance to actually fly this fantastic airplane as it had dual controls.
A very special day never to forget !
Thanks to the pilot Frédéric and instructor Pieter !
